The lower left is the image of 1964 the upper left, upper right and lower right are prints form 1967. It is a great chance for Andy Warhol fans, art lovers and Monroe admirers to buy this iconic vintage lithograph for a competitive price. The offset lithograph is published by Te Neues Publishing Company, printed in Germany in 1993 in cooperation with The Estate and The Andy Warhol foundation for Visual Arts. The litograph has been sealed with the orignial stamp of the AW foundation. The lithograph features an artwork image originally created by Warhol in 1964 titled Marylin (registered in the Catalogue Raisonné 1962-1987 Feldman/Schellmann 4th Edition II.23). Andy Warhol (1928-1987), son of Czech immigrants, began his career in advertising. He was mainly involved in designing record covers, weather maps for television and Christmas cards. In 1959 he exhibited his artwork for the first time at the Bodley Gallery in New York. He invented the simple but time-consuming technique of the 'blotted line' himself, with which he created his characteristic illustrations. In addition to the record cover of The Velvet Underground & Nico, the screen prints of Campbell's Soup and the portraits of Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Jackie Kennedy and Elisabeth Taylor are now world famous. Warhol started making screen prints in 1962. This printing technique soon became his main method. In the same year, his studio 'The Factory' was set up in New York. With the help of employees, Warhol realized a high art production there, which indeed resembled a factory. With his method of mass production, Warhol approached art in a revolutionary way for the time. The idea of an original work of art was no longer applicable in his view. The size of this hard to find and out of print collector's Pop Art print is 11.75 W X 16 H (30 cm by 40 cm). The lithograph is printed on high quality smooth finish paper stock with colourful ink. The rare out of print 1st edition framed lithograph print exhibition poster measures 24 1/2 W X 34 1/4 H X 1 D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern deep purple subtle metallic finish metal frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation. It is in excellent like new condition. The poster print is in excellent like new very clean condition with very light signs of handling. It is brand newly custom framed and has never been displayed. - Notes: Andy Warhol created a series of images for Chanel in the 1980's but it was not until 1997 that Chanel used them in a French promotional campaign. The large size was used in outdoor locations in Paris, this size was given out in department stores to customers who bought Chanel No.5 perfume. There are relatively few remaining in such good condition, and this has been professionally mounted on linen (as many vintage posters are) to preserve it for the future. Please be aware that there is a slight mark on the black/blue print on the right hand side of the bottle, which is shown in the photographs.
